Scabandari Bloodeye
The warlord who stabbed his brother-in-arms to secure dominance for his own people.
Scabandari Bloodeye is a pivotal figure in the history of the Tiste Edur and Tiste Andii, known primarily for his catastrophic betrayal during an ancient alliance. He originally led the Tiste Edur faction alongside Silchas Ruin's Tiste Andii against the K'Chain Che'Malle. While both factions suffered egregious losses in this great battle, Scabandari turned on his allies, stabbing Silchas Ruin in the back and ensuring the death of the surviving Tiste Andii to prevent them from posing a threat in the millennia to come. Lore & Background
Scabandari's defining moment occurred after a great battle between the K'Chain Che'Malle and an alliance of Tiste Andii and Tiste Edur. The Tiste Andii, led by Silchas Ruin (brother to Anomander Rake), and the Tiste Edur, led by Scabandari, fought together but bore heavy losses. The source notes that the Tiste Andii had the harder task and vastly fewer survivors. Capitalizing on this, Scabandari betrayed Silchas Ruin, stabbing him in the back. He then ordered the killing of the remaining Tiste Andii to ensure no threat remained for millennia. This event set the stage for the current timeline where the Tiste Edur tribes are united under a Warlock King.
In Their Own Story
In the wake of the battle with the K'Chain Che'Malle, Scabandari stood before his wounded ally Silchas Ruin. Both factions had suffered egregious losses, but the Tiste Andii were particularly decimated. Seizing the moment, Scabandari betrayed Silchas, stabbing him in the back. He then commanded that all surviving Tiste Andii be killed to eliminate any future threat to his people. Following this treachery, Silchas Ruin named him Bloodeye. This betrayal severed the alliance and left the Tiste Edur as the dominant Tiste faction, eventually leading to their unification by a Warlock King in the present day of the narrative.
